A rainy day in the park in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico.
The evangelical preacher spends everyday on this corner playing his tambourine, singing and dancing. I am not sure how effective he is at recruiting but he is entertaining to watch.
Most Mexican states either totally conquered or assimilated their aboriginal peoples, the indigenous of Chiapas, have not been conquered or assimilated. Zapatista occupations and protests still take place here everyday.
Typical street scene in my barrio of Mexicanos in the city of San Cristobal de las Casas, Mexico
The Zocalo near the cathedral is usually a gathering place in the city. Rain has run everyone off this day exxcept for (two) photographers and a few latent protestors.
